Who's behind the Vegas Valley Water Guide
We help Las Vegas Valley homeowners buy, size and set a water softener using the figures their own water utility publishes.
No sales, no installers, no paid rankings
Nothing is for sale here. We don’t make, sell, rent or install water softeners, reverse osmosis units or whole-house filters. No manufacturer, dealer or installer pays to appear on the site, to be ranked or to be mentioned, and none of them gives us the hardness figures.
Our figures come from public water utilities
Each hardness figure is taken from a public water utility’s own publication: an annual water quality report, a water quality summary or the utility’s own water quality page. Wherever a figure appears we name the utility and link to its website. Tap the “i” beside a result for the detail: the kind of document, its data year, what was measured and how, where the water comes from, and the date we last compared our figure with the original. Every utility is listed on our water data sources page.
Advertising and commissions
Advertising pays for the site. Some product links may later earn a small commission from a retailer. That has no effect on which models we include or the order we put them in: we compare models on the manufacturer’s published specifications only.
Spotted a mistake?
If a figure doesn’t match your street, or your utility has put out a newer report, let us know and we will check it against the source.
